Kitchen Extension
Kitchen Extension Transforms Living Spaces
Our clients have transformed their detached house with a new kitchen extension. They have created an open-plan ground floor space housing a modern kitchen with living and dining areas that extend out into the back garden. Large glass doors allow the outside in and maximise the garden’s connection to the home. Consequently the new space fills with an abundance of natural light.
Connecting the Garden to the Home
The single storey extension spans the full width of the property. It blends perfectly with the original building, through the use of the same red brick on the exterior for example. In addition, the new windows match existing ones and the modern bifold doors sit comfortably in the scheme.
The new patio stretches out from the large bifold doors, with steps down to the lawned garden, consequently creates a successful transition from inside to out and maybe a useful buffer from football played in the garden!
Kitchen Extension Success
The extension has provided a great transformation for our clients. It seamlessly integrates cooking, dining and socialising. Cooking has become a social activity through the use of an island with added breakfast bar. Also, by choosing a neutral shade throughout our clients have ensured continuity through the space.
In addition, as well as uniting the indoor and outdoor spaces in summer, with the large doors thrown open wide, in winter and gloomier days, the glass allows maximum light capacity to penetrate the living area.
Elliott Construction worked to drawings produced by our client’s architect. Trades included brickwork, scaffolding, joinery, plumbing and electrics. In conclusion it has been a lovely project to be involved in and we hope our clients will thoroughly enjoy their new living spaces.
