Converting a Barn – Stripping Back
Our role was to carry out structural and building works to take this conversion project from abandoned building to watertight shell. Converting a barn is a fantastic opportunity. After lying derelict for many years, we completely stripped back the building to its bare bones. As well as internal walls, floors and timbers we also removed the roof.
Converting a Barn – Green Energy, Sustainable Home
With the new timbers and flooring in place we could start to see the future living space and its potential. However, even more exciting are the renewable energy systems that our client has incorporated into the building’s design. With a heat pump installed and a bank of 10 kilowatt solar panels on the new roof, once completed the house will have no fossil fuel dependency.
It’s an exciting project and one we are pleased to have been involved in.
